CampusBell RC13 - Main PA Volume Field Test Published package: September 30, 2026 Installer: CampusBell-Setup-0.7.2-rc.13-PA-Volume-Field-Test.exe Size: 41,295,360 bytes (41.3 MB) SHA-256: a8d392f5f3f536a9b8fcff38cedf9b8e8e21efa2224ba50bfa8373b2cc332d1b This is a separate unsigned field test, not a stable automatic update. No Microsoft signature is present. Full install/upgrade acceptance and physical PA listening tests are not yet verified. The recommended Windows download, stable update feed, and Android RC13 APK are unchanged. INSTALL / UPGRADE 1. Back up CampusBell settings and your audio files. Keep your working installer. 2. Choose a maintenance window with no scheduled bells or paging in progress. 3. Download this exact PA-Volume-Field-Test installer from campusopshq.com. 4. Run setup and approve the Windows administrator prompt if you trust this unsigned test package. Choose Main CampusBell System for the bell computer. The complete package updates desktop, service, and audio host together. Internet is needed if setup must install the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime. 5. Open CampusBell from its desktop shortcut. Verify schedules, license, saved Main PA output, and audio files before returning it to service. 6. Look for the Main PA knob permanently beneath the title/Service Online row. The version label remains 0.7.2-rc.13.service.1; the knob identifies this build. VOLUME TEST - Default is 100%. Existing saved PA volume/mute settings are preserved. - The knob, keyboard arrows, and +/- buttons change Main PA level. It is saved on the bell computer and applied to active/future playback without seeking, restarting the song, changing the PA device, or changing Windows system volume. - Enable Boost only when wanted, acknowledge the warning, and increase slowly from 100% toward the 200% maximum while someone listens at the PA. - 200% is digital gain, not a promise of twice the perceived loudness. Quiet sources may become louder; already loud sources can engage the peak limiter. - The limiter is not protection for hearing, amplifiers, or speakers. Stop and reduce the level if you hear distortion. Check physical amplifier levels too. - Test a short bell, current music, and mute/unmute while physically present. Main PA mute affects ALL audio using this output, including paging and emergency audio. Unmute and confirm the intended level before leaving. - Applied means the audio host reports the setting; it does NOT prove audible sound at a speaker. Do not treat an online host as a listening test. - If status says host offline or update required, verify the matching host was installed/running. Do not keep raising gain to compensate for a disconnected or silent hardware route. - Closing the control window does not stop the background schedule/audio host. SCOPE / REMOTE CONTROL The new knob controls the dedicated native Main PA only. Network and Android endpoint volumes are unchanged. No new LAN/public listener, firewall opening, remote-control client, or gateway is included. A dedicated remote-control feature remains separate work; this release does not promise remote-session audio redirection will be harmless on every Windows driver. EXISTING FEATURES RC13 PDF schedule import, review-before-save, duplicate/conflict handling, animated setup, Network Audio, and Android field-test support remain included. The separate Android APK is unchanged. VALIDATION Native audio self-tests: 42 assertions passed without opening audio hardware. Desktop and service self-tests passed. Isolated volume authorization, persistence, concurrency, and playback-event tests passed. Header previews were checked at normal and compact widths. These checks do not replace the attended installation/upgrade and physical PA acceptance test above.
